Like 10 years ago, back when streaming services were becoming a thing, people assumed they would save money because they would no longer have to pay for tv channels they never watched.
Ben Thompson (@stratechery) and Chris Dixon warned that, despite paying for stuff we never watched, we were actually getting a surprisingly good deal, and we would end up paying more after the unbundling of cable tv.
Guess they were right.
