🇪🇺 How Much Young Peeps Make in Europe
According to the International Labor Organization, in 2023 Italians under-25 working full time had an average salary of $2,653, equivalent to 2,340 euros per month, for a gross annual income of 28,000 euros.
The figure may seem too high when looking around the Italian labor market, but two factors should be considered: first, the figure indicates an average, which is usually not representative of “50 percent of the population,” but tends to be overestimated compared to the median, which divides the distribution in half instead: 50 percent earns more, 50 percent less.
It should also be considered that the data is at purchasing power parity, which means that it is normalized for the different cost of living between countries. In practice, the figure suggests that young people in Italy earn on average an amount equivalent to earning $2,653 living in the United States.
