The labor force participation rate is the percentage of the working-age population that is either employed or actively looking for work.
Note that the OECD labor force participation rate—like the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics version—only counts people who are either working or actively looking for work.
If someone stops looking because they’re discouraged, in school, retired early, or staying home, they’re not in the labor force.
That means they’re excluded from both the numerator (labor force) and the denominator (when calculating participation rate).

The driving force behind New Paradise’s music was Léo Carrier, a French musician, songwriter, and producer who founded the group in 1981.
Carrier composed, arranged, and produced the bulk of their tracks.
The three rotating female vocalists performed the songs, but the creative direction and music production stayed with him.
On records, you’ll often see him credited for music, arrangements, and production, while the singers were more the performing face of the project.
